เมื่อต้นเดือน พ.ค. 2565 มีนกขนาดเล็กคู่หนึ่งพากันบินมาหาที่ทำรังที่ต้นอะโวคาโดในกระถางข้างบ้าน ต้นอะโวคาโดนี้มีใบหนาและใหญ่ (ใบใหญ่ขนาดฝ่ามือ) สักพักใหญ่นกเริ่มหาวัสดุคล้ายเส้นใยมาเย็บใบไม้เข้าด้วยกัน ด้วยการเจาะรูใบไม้ เสียบเส้นใยเสียบทะลุใบไม้ ขมวดปม แล้วรั้งใบไม้เข้าหากัน จนได้ใบไม้รูปกรวย อีกสองวันถัดมาเจ้านกนำเศษหญ้าแห้งและวัสดุนิ่มๆ คล้ายขนสัตว์มาปูในรัง อีกสิบวันถัดมาพบว่ามีนกตัวหนึ่งอยู่ในรัง โดยยื่นปากเล็กๆ ยาวๆ ออกมา แค่ผมยื่นหน้าสบตานิดเดียว เจ้านกก็รีบบินออกจากรังอย่างรวดเร็ว พอลองส่องเข้าไปในรัง ก็พบว่ามีไข่ใบน้อย อยู่ในรัง 3 ใบ
ทุกๆ วันจะพบว่ามีนกตัวหนึ่งบินมาเกาะอยู่บริเวณรั้วเหนือรัง และร้องเสียงดังกังวาน วิด วิด วิด
ค้นหาใน Google แป็บเดียวก็พบว่าเป็นนกกระจิบธรรมดา Common Tailorbird ชื่อภาษาอังกฤษ ก็ช่างตรงกับความสามารถของเจ้านกเหลือเกินที่สามารถเย็บใบไม้ให้เป็นรังได้ ต่างจาก พวกนกปรอด หรือ นกพิราบที่พบทั่วๆ ไปที่แค่เอากิ่งไม้มาเรียงๆ กัน
At the beginning of May 2021, there is a couple of little bird searching for a cool place to build their nest. Finally, they select Avocado leaf to build their nest. The avocado leaf has the size of my hand which is considered the biggest leaf in my house area. The bird attaches a leaf together by punching a leaf and insert nature fiber into the hole and tie a knot then pull the leaf edge to another side. Then the leaf becomes a funnel shape. Next 2 days, I found a lot of dry grass and natural fiber in their next. Another 10 days, I visit the nest again and found a little bird stay inside, it suddenly goes out when it sees my face. There are 3 little eggs inside the nest.
Every day, I see one of them stand on the fence above the nest and make a vibrant voice "wid wid wid".
It is very easy to find them while googling this kind of bird. This is a common tailorbird.

ลักษณะหน้าผากและกระหม่อมน้ำตาลแดง คิ้วและหน้าขาวแก้มเทา ลำตัวด้านบนเขียวคล้ำ ลำตัวด้านล่างขาว บางครั้งใต้คอเป็นสีดำโดยเฉพาะขณะร้อง คล้ายกระจิบคอดำ แต่ก้นขาวตลอดไม่มีสีเหลืองแซม

Common Tailorbird
The common tailorbird (Orthotomus sutorius) is a songbird found across tropical Asia. Popular for its nest made of leaves "sewn" together and immortalized by Rudyard Kipling as Darzee in his Jungle Book, it is a common resident in urban gardens. Although shy birds are usually hidden within vegetation, their loud calls are familiar and give away their presence. They are distinctive in having a long upright tail, greenish upper body plumage, and rust coloured forehead and crown. This passerine bird is typically found in open farmland, scrub, forest edges, and gardens. Tailorbirds get their name from the way their nest is constructed. The edges of a large leaf are pierced and sewn together with plant fiber or spider silk to make a cradle in which the actual nest is built.
