Screwpine (Pandanus tectorius หรือ Pandanus odoratissimus) เตยทะเล ลำเจียก
เห็นที่รีสอร์ทแห่งหนึงบนเกาะสมุยนำมาเป็นไม้ประดับบริเวณสระว่ายน้ำ ลักษณะผลแปลกดีคล้ายสับปะรดแต่ออกอยู่บนยอดสูงๆ ลองค้นข้อมูลดูพบว่าเป็นพืชประจำถิ่นของประเทศไทย (พบมากที่ตรังและสตูล) และประเทศที่อยู่แถบเส้นศูนย์สูตร เช่น ฟิลิปปินส์ เวียดนาม คาบสมุทรมลายู หมู่เกาะฮาวาย อินเดีย ออสเตรเลีย
จัดเป็นไม้ยืนต้นขนาดเล็ก สูงประมาณ 5-6 เมตร เส้นผ่านศูนย์กลางลำต้นประมาณ 8-20 เซนติเมตร ที่โคนมีรากอากาศช่วยค้ำจุนลำต้น ใบมีหนามแหลมสั้นกระจายอยู่ทั่วไป

Found this plant beside the swimming pool in one resort on Samui Island Thailand. The fruit looks amazing like pineapple that grows on a tree. Searching from google and found that actually, this is a native plant in Thailand and countries on the equator area like Malesia, eastern Australia, and the Pacific Islands. It grows in the coastal lowlands typically near the edge of the ocean. Common names in English include thatch screwpine, Tahitian screwpine, Hala tree, pandanus, and Pu Hala in Hawaiian. The fruit is sometimes known as Hala fruit
