Red-backed sea-eagle or Brahminy kite from Khao Tubchang Wildlife Conservation Ratchaburi Thailand. This Brahminy kite is staying in the same cage as Crested Serpent Eagle but the Brahminy is more outstanding since its color of wings and body are totally different with white and red brown and always make voice. เหยี่ยวแดงจากศูนย์แสดงพันธุ์สัตว์ป่าเขาประทับช้าง จ.ราชบุรี อยู่ในกรงเดียวกับเหยี่ยวรุ้ง แต่เหยี่ยวแดงมีลักษณะที่สะดุดตากว่า คือมีปีกสีแดงน้ำตาลและลำตัวสีขาว และส่งเสียงร้องเกือบตลอดเวลา ส่วนเหยี่ยวรุ้งมีสีที่กลมกลืนกันเกือบทั้งตัว ... ลองฟังเสียงของเหยี่ยวแดงจากวิดีโอ
เหยี่ยวแดงมีสีที่ตัดกันเป็นเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะ ทั้งตัวจะมีสีน้ำตาลแดงยกเว้นที่หัวและอกมีสีขาว ปลายปีกมีสีดำ ขามีสีเหลือง ตัวเมียมีขนาดใหญ่กว่าตัวผู้มีความยาวจากปลายปีกจดปลายหาง 51 ซม. ตัวผู้ยาว 43 ซม. นกวัยอ่อนมีสีน้ำตาลแกมดำคล้ายกับเหยี่ยวดำ แต่มีสีจางกว่า ปีกสั้น และ หางมน
เหยี่ยวแดงมีขนาดพอๆกับเหยี่ยวดำและมีลักษณะการบินที่คล้ายกันจากมุมปีก แต่มันมีปลายหางมนเหมือนกับนกในสกุล Milvus ขณะที่เหยี่ยวดำมีหางเป็นแฉก นกทั้งสองสกุลนี้มีลักษณะใกล้เคียงกันมาก..

The brahminy kite (Haliastur indus), also known as the red-backed sea-eagle in Australia, is a medium-sized bird of prey in the family Accipitridae, which also includes many other diurnal raptors, such as eagles, buzzards, and harriers. They are found in the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and Australia. They are found mainly on the coast and in inland wetlands, where they feed on dead fish and other prey. Adults have a reddish-brown body plumage contrasting with their white head and breast which make them easy to distinguish from other birds of prey.....
