House Geckos, we found a lot in Thailand. Normally I though it will only eat insect but see from this VDO seem it can eat anything on your kitchen table ..even fried shrimp head it also interested to try.

Hemidactylus (the house geckos) is a genus of the family of common geckos, Gekkonidae. It has about 90 described species, newfound ones being described every few years. These geckos are found in all the tropical regions of the world, extending into the subtropical parts of Africa and Europe. They excel in colonizing oceanic islands by rafting on flotsam, and are for example found across most of Polynesia. In some archipelagoes, cryptic species complexes are found. Geckos like to live in and out of houses. They are introduced to Australia.
They are typically known as house geckos, due to their readiness to adapt to and coexist with humans. This genus was originally established by Lorenz Oken in 1817 for the species at that time known as Hemidactylus tuberculosus, and now described as the tropical house gecko (Hemidactylus mabouia)..

จิ้งจกบ้าน หรือที่นิยมเรียกสั้น ๆ ว่า จิ้งจก เป็นสัตว์เลื้อยคลาน ที่อยู่ในสกุล Hemidactylus
พบมากในแถบเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ และแพร่พันธุ์ไปในหลายประเทศทั่วโลก ทั้งแอฟริกาตะวันออก, นิวกินี, เม็กซิโก, มาดากัสการ์, ออสเตรเลีย และหลายพื้นที่ทั่วโลก สามารถพบเห็นได้ทั่วไปตามที่พักอาศัย
สำหรับชนิดที่พบได้บ่อยและแพร่หลายที่สุดในประเทศไทย คือ จิ้งจกบ้านหางแบน (H. platyurus) และจิ้งจกบ้านหางหนาม (H. frenatus)
มีสี่เท้า มีลำตัวขนาดเล็ก ลำตัวแบน หัวสั้น และมีหาง ไม่มีม่านตา โดยเฉลี่ยลำตัวจะมีความยาว 3 นิ้ว ตัวเต็มวัยอาจจะถึง 5 นิ้วมีสีน้ำตาลอ่อนจนถึงเข้ม ลิ้นสั้นแต่ยืดออกได้ ผิวหนังค่อนข้างละเอียด ตัวมักมีสีขาวหรือคล้ำ สามารถปรับตัวให้กลมกลืนกับสิ่งแวดล้อม เท้าเหนียวช่วยให้ไต่ไปตามเพดานหรือข้างฝาได้ มักอาศัยอยู่ตามบ้านเรือน[1] มีอายุประมาณ 5-10 ปี การงอกใหม่ของหางจิ้งจกใช้เวลาประมาณ 2-6 สัปดาห์ ระยะเวลาขึ้นอยู่กับขนาดของหางที่ขาดหายไป อาหาร และสุขภาพ ขยายพันธุ์ด้วยออกลูกเป็นไข่ ซึ่งตัวเมียนั้นจะออกไข่คราวละ 2 ฟอง มีความกว้างประมาณ 0.5-0.9 เซนติเมตร และมีความยาว 0.6-1.0 เซนติเมตร ไข่จะใช้เวลาในการฟักตัวเป็นเวลา 50-65 วันหลังจากออกจากท้องของตัวเมีย โดยเมื่อตัวอ่อนออกจากไข่แล้วจะมีขนาดประมาณ 2 นิ้ว ไข่มีสีขาว ลำตัวเป็นปล้องๆ
